GT Propellers

Wind Tunnel Propellers

We design and manufacture our own ground-adjustable and electric constant-speed propellers for wind tunnel systems, available in 3, 4 and 5-blade configurations, in a wide range of sizes and setups.

They are used by industrial research labs, automotive wind tunnels, vertical wind tunnels for skydiving and sports research, and industrial fan applications, among others.

Sizes range from 2 metres up to 5 metres in diameter, and each project is typically custom-built to the client’s specifications. We apply the same aviation propeller technology and engineering, ensuring outstanding safety factors throughout, and every blade is tailored to the purpose and performance requirements of its application.

These propellers can also be evaluated for other applications: contact us to discuss your project.

A huge 4-meter three-blade wind machine propeller, designed for static use to simulate different wind speeds in industrial testing to ASTM standards.
This propeller operates at various RPM settings, while special equipment throws ice, water, small rocks and sand into the airflow. The blades feature metal protection and a special coating.

Our smaller three-blade propeller, electrically driven, designed for an ASTM test laboratory.
A clear view of the monolithic hub, with one blade still to be fitted. Blades can be installed and removed quickly, safely and easily during installation or maintenance, an aviation technology also highly appreciated by industrial operators.

Four-blade ground-adjustable propeller, 330 cm in diameter, during initial balancing.
For this specific project, built for parachute training simulators, the propeller RPM and size matched those of the Rotol 100046 used on the Spitfire. We rebuilt the Rotol 100046 exactly, with squared tips as the only difference, and the performance results were outstanding. We love mixing vintage and modern technology.
