Yak Propellers

GT Propellers is the world's only manufacturer of original Vperyod V530TA-D35 paddle blades.

Yak Propellers Experts

Immediately after the fall of the Berlin Wall, we gained access to radial aircraft propellers from ex-Eastern Bloc aircraft purchased throughout Europe. Most of these propellers featured variable pitch. We initially worked on them purely for maintenance, but by the early ’90s we had decided to upgrade these robust, counterweighted propellers. Most of them offer on-wing blade replacement capability, allowing blades to be changed directly in the field.

Since then, we have expanded our specific know-how, designing and producing new blades to replace the original Russian paddle blades. Nearly four decades of experience have made us leaders in upgrading and replacing B530D blades with a more modern, efficient design. The results have been so positive that our replacement blades and service are adopted by military schools, aerobatic clubs, dedicated Yak services, enthusiast communities, and Yak manufacturers.

After many years, we still cooperate with these aircraft’s production technicians and maintenance services around the world.

Blades and Propellers

We are currently the world’s only manufacturer of the original V530D paddle blades.

Over the years we have maintained a significant stock of original blades, while production of our new GT-design blades has reached nearly 1,000 units, in various sizes for specific applications.

Our GT design has proven to increase performance on the famous Yak-52 trainer — up to 10% more across the board. That’s why, after so many years, it remains one of our best-selling products.

We currently produce 7 different blade models compatible with the D hub, and 5 different three-blade propellers.

Housai Conversion

Thanks to our specific expertise, we have also converted the Housai engine, replacing the Chinese J6 blades with our own composite blades featuring an innovative scimitar design. The performance gains are outstanding on the 370 HP Super Housai engine, and very positive on the standard 280 HP stock version as well.

Services

Our current services on these propellers include:

  • Restoration of original Russian paddle blades
  • New production of Russian-design blades
  • Hub maintenance and modifications when required
  • Upgrade of Russian or Chinese hubs with GT blade design and spinner installation
  • On-field dynamic balancing
  • Full service and maintenance of our blades

In development: an innovative, digitally balanced composite spinner, compatible with both the V530D and the Chinese J6 version. The real advantages of this spinner are easy accessibility and installation procedures, ensuring better aircraft performance, improved dynamic balance results, better engine cooling, and a sleeker look.

We also carry out upgrades on other ex-Eastern Bloc propellers, such as PZL, Avia, Ash, VISh and similar models.
